While developing a visual identity, the main principle is to synthesize and explain a set of values, concepts, and ideas through reduction. For the PCD·24 identity, we posed the question in reverse: how can we create an identity in constant mutation and expansion? With the theme "Ludic Aesthetics" set for the 2024 conference, we focused on creating an ever-transforming identity, using a dynamic and mathematical visual motif.
Although variable and presented in diverse forms across various contexts, this identity, based on an organic and mathematical visual motif, encapsulates a space for speculation and creativity that incites questioning the boundaries of art, design, and technology. Exploring and questioning these themes tends to create tensions at the borders that define them today. This tension is represented by the choice of red, intended to evoke a heat map, symbolizing human movement and the vision of the body as an interface in constant activity and pulsation.
With the theme "Ludic Aesthetics" set for the 2024 conference, we focused on creating an ever-transforming identity, using a dynamic and mathematical visual motif. The chosen object was the slinky. Though mathematically conceived, the slinky unfolds and transforms into organic shapes, reflecting the dynamism inherent in the PCD universe. Additionally, the spring aligns with the concepts of "ludic aesthetics" and "body as interface," as it extends the user's movement, functioning as an extension of the arm or hand, generating a multitude of contortions.

The music is a hymn to intellectual rebirth, an ode to how melody heals, transforming our thoughts, our way of living, our dreams, and allowing us to be born again. This rebirth is not abrupt, but rather a slow and introspective blossoming, an awakening to oneself. The conceptual inspiration for this project lies in the sun flower from the film "Rapunzel" – a drop of sunlight that, upon touching the earth, grants healing and rebirth.
This flower, a symbol of renewed life, guided the creation of the single's cover, radiating light amidst the darkness. The music is that magical flower, a beacon that saves and transforms, bringing with it the promise of a new purpose, a new life.

The publication serves as both an exercise and a reflection of our times, marked by contrasts and similarities across the texts. Each piece is unique, yet integral to the whole. It highlights the author's ideas and writing, exploring ironies and contemporary references through the interplay of graphic languages, treating text as image and vice versa. In an era overwhelmed by information, we embrace the noise, exploring both the sounds and silences within the texts. Our goal is to balance content diversity with a coherent visual approach, ensuring that editorial choices harmonize rhythm and aesthetics with an experimental style that unapologetically defies contemporary norms, celebrating uniqueness.

Many territorial and local identities are often based on architectural forms and important monuments. The Vinho Verde heritage, however, represents a sensory and inherited legacy. Since the territory was demarcated in 1908, the region has been reflected through its connections, historical past, and inherited knowledge and sensations. The natural form and crossing of the vines symbolize the core concepts of this territory: land, connection, and heritage.
Editorially, we propose a journey through the vineyards, allowing the observer to explore the nuances of the green wine universe. This experience calls for personal interpretation rather than logical description. The text is integral to the identity, embodying the developed language. It maintains functionality by marking the beginning of each phrase rhythmically, almost like poetry.

This piece embodies the ironic, multifaceted, and interactive nature of the designer's life. Initially, the game generates placeholder text, which can be detected by a smartphone camera and later transferred to a computer for design work. Subsequently, the object's output becomes entirely analog. The choice of typography and the inverted text of Amália Rodrigues' fado allow the user to assemble and print the text manually, as shown in the images.
This piece mocks "Lorem Ipsum," drawing the designer out of the digital realm while still enabling the creation of original, narrative-free texts. A promotional video highlights the project's irony, depicting a digital nomad transitioning from digital play to manual printing, emphasizing the object's unconventional role in a designer's daily life.
